Since this blog contains my poetry, I’ll talk about when they started. I wrote some poems when I was a teenager. Didn’t everyone? But never really got into it until 2001. They started coming at me from all sides and I had to write them down. After about 20-25, they stopped. And I assumed that was it. But recently, they’ve started again. So here they are. I’m sure there will be more – until there aren’t.
I was raised in a small town in the Southwest and my Father was a preacher. After retirement, I wrote my autobiography called “My Father’s House.” Copies are still available.
One of my favorite things is to read. Books. Books. Books. I can never get enough. Once I’ve read them, I usually give them away. But sometimes I keep them. Here are a few of my favorite books that I’ve kept:
“And Ladies of the Club” by Helen Hooven Santmyer
“The Touch” by Colleen McCullough
“Mark of the Lion” series by Francine Rivers
“Frozen In Time” by Mitchell Zuckoff
“The Help” Kathryn Stockett
“Glass Houses” and “Half Broke Horses” by Jeanette Walls
“1000 White Women” by Jim Fergus
“Follow The River” by James Alexander Thom
Anything by Lee Child
I really love music. There is not enough room anywhere for me to name every artist or every song. Blues, classic rock (60’s & 70’s), oldies (50’s & 60’s), old country western. I listen to and appreciate almost all kinds of music.
Besides books and music, some of my favorite things are:
potato soup on a cold night
the sound of rain on the roof
the smell of fresh cut grass, vanilla, oranges, leather and lilacs
Lilacs are my favorite flower but right up there close to lilacs are daisies and daffodils.
That’s my Sister, for sure. She also loves deeply, forgives carefully, counsels without judgement and is my forever friend.

Absolutely a better layout! Now we know who the author is right away! I really like it much better. Much classier format!
